CEDAR Audio is pleased to announce the sale of four CEDAR DNS1000s and one DNS2000 Dynamic Noise Suppressor units to the Arabic Television news channel Al Jazeera.
The DNS units are now based at all four of Al Jazeera?s international studios ? Doha, Kuala Lumpur, London and Washington DC ? ready for the launch of Al Jazeera English. This new channel will initially broadcast for 12 hours a day, becoming a 24-hour news service by 1 January 2007.
Clive Osborn, Sales Director, at CEDAR Audio comments ?The DNS technology will be valuable in helping to remove unwanted background noise in the news studios. We are delighted that Al Jazeera has purchased DNS units and wish them good fortune with this new channel.
The DNS1000 Dynamic Noise Suppressor is a free-standing unit designed for audio post, live broadcast, and forensic audio. The DNS2000 is a fully automated implementation designed specifically for Pro Tools users. Connected to Pro Tools using a USB cable, Pro Tools provides the control and automation for the process, while the DNS2000 rackmount processor provides the DSP power and the 24-bit I/O for the system.
Both the DNS1000 and DNS2000 are ideal for eliminating traffic noise, aircraft, air conditioning, wind, rain, tape hiss, and general background from recordings and live transmissions.
Al Jazeera English, the new international news channel from the Qatar-based television network, has begun broadcasting from its main studios in Doha. The opening broadcast, which was available in 80 million households around the world, featured a clip introducing the channel. Al Jazeera English is aiming to be the channel of reference for Middle East events.
In addition to Al Jazeera English cable and satellite broadcasts, it will be available on broadband, IPTV, ADSL, terrestrial and mobile phone platforms.
