CEDAR Audio started out in the world of audio restoration, and our product range has gradually expanded to include noise suppression and creative software solutions for media production professionals. Audio Restoration
When it comes to the cultural significance of audio and the desire to preserve voices and sounds from across history, small sound libraries and huge national archives all do amazing work. Regardless of size, they share a need to create clean copies of the sounds held on aged and decaying media.
Film & Television
In 2000, CEDAR pioneered the idea of the zero-latency digital dialogue noise suppressor, or 'DNS'. A revolution in post production, the first DNS1000 was delivered to Skywalker Sound in September of that year, and units were soon to be seen on the soundstages of almost every major studio.
Four years later, CEDAR's engineers were awarded Academy Awards® for services to the movie industry.
Music Production
Over the last 40 years, CEDAR Audio’s emphasis has gradually broadened from audio restoration to also offering creative tools that help musicians, producers, engineers and content creators.
CEDAR Audio offers a range of solutions designed for recording, mixing and mastering, enabling everyone from home studio musicians and producers to multiple Grammy winning engineers to capture the perfect take and simplify production workflows.
Remastering
We have lost count of the number of CDs, DVDs and movie soundtracks that have been restored using CEDAR. The original CEDAR System was installed and used by the biggest names in the audio business - EMI Abbey Road, Sony Music, BMG, CBS, Denon Columbia, and many more - as well as dedicated remastering studios that processed thousands of remasters per year.
