CEDAR Retouch ™ is heading to Pyramix

CEDAR Retouch audio restoration system

4 April 2003

CEDAR Audio and Merging Technologies have reached a strategic agreement that will see CEDAR Audio's OEM audio restoration software ported onto Merging's Pyramix audio workstation.

Ken Barnsley, Merging's Sales and Marketing Manager, "While we already offer some audio restoration facilities within Pyramix, a great many of our mastering customers have specifically asked if we will ever implement CEDAR's fully integrated range. I am very pleased that the answer to this question is now a resounding 'yes'. The first implementation will be CEDAR's celebrated Retouch technology, which will become Merging's offering for unwanted artifacts removal applications. Pyramix has rapidly become the system of choice for leading audio professionals all over the world and to align ourselves with such an industry respected company like CEDAR Audio is not only preferred it is almost a requirement for today's mastering professionals."

Gordon Reid, Managing Director of CEDAR Audio added, "Following an initial collaboration with Merging Technology in 1997, we have been watching Pyramix penetrate the professional mastering and audio restoration markets. And, since CEDAR is the leading supplier of OEM restoration processes, it was perhaps inevitable that we would port our latest OEM software developments to the platform. Given the excitement generated by Retouch, and the wide range of uses to which it has already been put, it was natural to start with this as the first 'CEDAR for Pyramix' process."
