Streaming Processes are those through which audio can be streamed, either in real-time or outside of real-time (rendered) at the maximum speed determined by the system resources. Rendering is usually many times faster than real-time.
These processes are managed by and may be chained within the Process Manager. Any given instance of the Process Manager may be rendered in the foreground, placed into the background and rendered, or placed within an Action List for batch processing.
When streaming processes are used in real-time, the audio can be supplied from external devices or played from the Process Manager, and may be output to external devices or saved within CEDAR Cambridge. The operator may monitor the output of the processes as they perform their tasks.
