CEDAR Audio has released a major upgrade for the DNS One dialogue noise suppressor plug-in and its associated DNS CS Control System that supports the DNS2000 and DNS3000 dialogue noise suppressors. In response to customers' requests, DNS CS now supports PPC-based Macs running OS X 10.4 onward. This means that the DNS One, the DNS2000 and the DNS3000 may all be used with and controlled from appropriate versions of Pro Tools running on these hosts. What's more, AudioSuite capability has been added to DNS One, which will enable it to fit more productively into the workflow of many post-production engineers and other users.
A number of functional improvements to the Control System have also been implemented, most significant of which are new controls that considerably reduce set up time for each job. In addition, enhancements to the control of multiple DNS3000s over Ethernet have been implemented, as well as improvements to the DNS3000's Touch mode and the method of selecting which hardware units are selected and controlled.
The updated versions of the DNS One and DNS Control System are immediately available and the price remains unchanged. Furthermore, the new versions are available free of charge to all existing users of the DNS One, DNS2000 and DNS3000.
The DNS One is a Pro Tools plug-in that runs on both Mac OS X and Windows. It makes no compromises in sound quality and offers the same Academy Award winning performance as its illustrious siblings, the DNS1500, DNS2000 and DNS3000. Coupled to a superb user-interface (the DNS Control System) that allows users to control hundreds of channels of DNS (software and hardware, in any mix) from a single Pro Tools host, DNS One is the most powerful and flexible noise suppressor ever developed. It is ideal for all studio environments, and especially for film, TV and video post-production.
CEDAR's Dialogue Noise Suppression makes unusable interviews intelligible, saves huge costs in ADR, and has rescued dialogue for countless movies. In the words of one member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, DNS is "probably used on every major movie coming out of Hollywood", and can now be found on virtually all dubbing stages worldwide.
